60 Minutes’ Tara Brown slams herself over Lebanon child abduction in video

60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown has been out of a Lebanese jail for just over a week following the widely publicised botched child recovery operation.

But other than an interview she gave to 60 Minutes on Sunday, Brown has not been grilled over her involvement or the child abduction charges she faced.

So The Weekly – an ABC news comedy show – decided it was time for Brown to be interviewed by none other than Tara Brown.

The Weekly, an ABC news comedy show, has created a parody video where 60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown has interviewed herself over the botched child recovery operation in Lebanon

The one minute ‘exclusive’ interview features footage from Brown’s diaglogue with colleague Michael Usher on Sunday and a previous interview where the hard-hitting journalist grills someone else.

The result is nothing short of hilarious.

‘I think when we presented ourselves and we were being questioned, I really thought you know we’re journalists we are doing our job,’ the just-released-from-Jail Brown says.

The other Brown hits back: ‘Really?’

‘You know, I spent two weeks with Sally. We are here just to do a story on a very desperate mother,’ the Brown being interviewed said.

‘You kind of were playing in a grown up’s world without realising it. Your reality does not actually match reality.’

Brown, her 60 Minutes crew and Brisbane mother Sally Faulkner returned to Australia after a two week stint in a Beirut jail on kidnapping charges.

The 60 Minutes crew had followed Ms Faulkner to Beirut to film the attempted recovery of her two children – Lahela, 5, and Noah, 3 – from her estranged husband Ali Elamine.
