A look at Lucy Turnbull’s incredible style transformation

On Sunday evening, Australia watched as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull admitted he ‘couldn’t do the job’ without his wife Lucy and gushed about her ‘grounded’ nature on 60 Minutes.

And it’s not surprising, with the 59-year-old not only serving as the first female Lord Mayor of Sydney in 2003 and 2004 but also working tirelessly to create an empire now worth more than $200 million with her husband.

Mrs Turnbull’s powerhouse attitude and energy has also earned her a following in fashion, with countless fans taking to social media after the interview to ask where her outfit was from.

But style wasn’t always a priority for Mrs Turnbull, who has undergone a significant sartorial transformation in recent years.

Lucy Turnbull, the wife of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, is her husband’s rock. And it’s not surprising, with the 59-year-old not only serving as the first female Lord Mayor of Sydney in 2003 and 2004 but also working tirelessly to create an empire now worth more than $200 million

From designer outfits and her signature clear specs to glamorous evening wear, Mrs Turnbull isn’t afraid to get creative with her style and manages to do it time and time again, without crossing the line.

‘[Style is] intangible, an X-factor, but I think I know it when I see it. It may have as much to do with what you do as how you look. Often confident achievers shine without trying, while others who’ve spent a fortune on clothes look like fashion victims,’ Mrs Turnbull told Vogue Australia previously.

‘I’m not at all obsessed with how I look, but I have a couple of basic rules. I try to look my best in well-designed, appropriate clothes. I dress my age and have an absurdity meter that stops me looking like mutton dressed as lamb.’

Here, FEMAIL looks at how Mrs Turnbull’s style has adapted and evolved with time, with the glamorous philanthropist’s effortless style only improving with age.
