Aeromexico has announced the airline is offering Americans reduced rates on fares to Mexico in a comical viral video ad titled ‘DNA Discounts’ that takes a jab at President Trump’s border policy.

The commentator kicks off the ad by saying: ‘Mexico’s first destination is America, but America’s first destination is not Mexico.

‘So we went to a typical American town to ask why they don’t consider Mexico an option to travel to.’

The ad, released by the airline’s advertising agency Ogilvy, takes place in Wharton, Texas, where residents are asked why they don’t consider Mexico to be a hot spot to travel.

The following segment shows the Wharton residents’ reactions after learning about their percentage of Mexican heritage.   

When the interviewer informs them about their Mexican ancestry, some were shocked, angry, and one excited about the deal.

One man said: ‘That’s b******t’, and a woman added: ‘I love discounts’. 

‘The more Mexican they are, the more discount they get,’ the ad goes on to say. 

The United States is the Aeromexico’s largest international market, with Canada following in second.
