Amanda Knox to host series on women demonized in the media

Amanda Knox is set to host a new show that will explore how girls and women have been ‘shamed’ publicly and attacked in the media.

Her new show, ‘The Scarlet Letter Reports,’ is from Vice Media and will be launching soon on Facebook’s video platform, Variety reported.

The 30-year-old, who spent four years in an Italian prison after being convicted of murdering her roommate before being exonerated, will interview women to discuss their experiences of being ‘sexualized, scrutinized and demonized’ by media coverage. She will also discuss how they’ve rebuilt their lives.

‘While on trial for a murder I didn’t commit, my prosecutor painted me as a sex-crazed femme fatale with magical powers to control men,’ Knox said in a statement provided by Vice.

‘I lost years of my life to prison because of two-dimensional and misogynist stereotypes.

‘In ‘The Scarlet Letter Reports,’ I’m hoping to re-humanize others who have been similarly shamed and vilified, and elevate the standard for how we think and talk about public women.’

She also tweeted: ‘In the midst of this important cultural moment, I’m thrilled to be partnering with VICE & Facebook to mind-meld with incredible women & address an issue very close to my heart. Look out for The Scarlet Letter Reports this Spring.’

Her interview subjects include Daisy Colelman, the Missouri teen who became an advocate for sexual-assault education and model Amber Rose.

Knox’s show will be among three original weekly series from Vice that Facebook ordered.
