American Idol 2018: When are the live shows and finale

American Idol fans are just weeks away from seeing a new winner crowned.

Before Season 16 of the competition comes to a close, viewers will have to wade through two weeks of semi-finals and five weeks of live shows and eliminations.

The top 24 contestants, revealed during an April 2, 2018 episode of the show, will have one last shot to showcase their skills in the semi-finals before the live rounds begin. 

The American Idol live rounds, which will last five long weeks, are just a few episodes away

American Idol Season 16 semi-finals began on April 8, 2018 and April 9, 2018. During the two episodes, group one performed one solo and one duet. 

On April 15, 2018, group two will begin their individual attempts to secure a spot in the live rounds.

Here’s what to expect from the American Idol live shows and finals.

When are the American Idol live shows?

According to MJ’s Big Blog, the American Idol live shows begin on April 22, 2018. The show will feature the top 14 remaining contestants and the first viewer vote of season 16. The show will begin at 8pm ET and run for two hours. 

The following day, during a second, two-hour live show, American Idol viewers will be introduced to the top 10 contestants. 

The live shows will continue on April 29, 2018 with the top 10 performing Disney-themed songs. 

On May 6, 2018, American Idol fans can catch the first two-hour round of the finals. They will continue on May 13, 2018.

When is the American Idol Season 16 finale?

The American Idol Season 16 finale will be held over the course of two nights. The first part will air on May 20, 2018, at 8pm ET. It’ll be a two-hour show.

The second part will air on May 21, 2018 at the same time. At the end of the show, the winner will be revealed.
