America’s Got Talent: Howie Mandel gets sword swung at him

The America’s Got Talent audience is left on their toes during an upcoming episode of the NBC television series, which sees danger act, Aaron Crow, drip hot wax onto his eyes and swing a sword at judge Howie Mandel’s head while blind.

The 49-year-old danger artist from Bruges, Belgium, first appeared on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2013 but in his audition for the American show, judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Howie and host Tyra Banks are left on the edge of their seats thanks to his nail-biting performance.

In the nearly six-minute video, Aaron starts his audition by standing silently (he’s also known as the silent mentalist) on the stage next to a lit candle. The judges try to ask him questions such as ‘how old are you’ and ‘are you excited’ but only when Mel B asks ‘do you think you are hot’ does he give a facial reaction.

For the first part of his performance, Aaron slices an apple with a sword while the tiny fruit is in mid-air. But his act suddenly takes a turn when he decides to recruit two people from the audience and Howie to be a part of his next routine.

After all three participants are gathered on the stage, Aaron positions them with their respective props for his performance.

The woman is given a paper bag to hold at arms length, the man is given a wooden board which he also holds at arms length and Howie is positioned to the far-right of the stage and given a pineapple, which Aaron places on top of Howie’s head.

Next, Aaron pours hot wax on his eyes – to prevent him seeing anything – but to make sure there’s no peeking involved in the stunt, he wraps bandage tape, black tape and foil around his head.

He then pulls a knife from inside his boot pocket and hops around the stage before stabbing the rice-filled paper bag the woman is holding.

The crowd is immediately shocked and slightly terrified but as Aaron begins making his way toward the man on stage, the audience soon realizes that the performer has much more in store.

After Aaron pulls nunchucks from his pocket, he goes to the man holding the wooden board and before the man even has a chance to think about what’s happening, Aaron breaks the board in half with the martial arts weapon.

Once again, the crowd erupts into a round of applause but that soon turns to audible gasps and screams after he pulls out his sword from behind his back.

Being the daredevil that he is, Aaron starts flinging the sword around on stage and then starts inching his way to Howie, who looks terrified with the pineapple still on his head.

Panicking: Mel B and the show's audience looked at Aaron and his stunts in horror - but neither could seem to turn away

And as the judges and audience realize that Aaron plans to slice the tropical fruit on Howie’s head while he’s blindfolded with foil, tape and bandage wrap, they all begin to shriek in terror – especially Howie.

But luckily his fear doesn’t long because moments later, Aaron can be seen successfully slicing the pineapple and sparing Howie’s life.

Howie is so surprised by Aaron’s thrilling performance, that shrinks to his knees with his mouth agape and part of the pineapple still on his head.

For those wanting to see more suspenseful performances, season 13 of America’s Got Talent season airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
