Anderson Cooper says Twitter was hacked after Trump attack

  • Anderson Cooper posted that his Twitter had been hacked on Wednesday morning after a tweet attacking President Trump was posted from his account
  • A tweet sent out from his account just before 8am called President Trump a ‘pathetic loser’ for supporting disgraced Alabama Senate hopeful Roy Moore
  • ‘just woke up to find out someone gained access to my twitter account. i have not sent a tweet in days,’ said Cooper

Anderson Cooper managed to raise a few eyebrows on Wednesday morning after the CNN host lashed out at President Trump on Twitter.

A tweet sent out from his account just before 8am called the Commander-in-Chief a ‘pathetic loser’ for supporting disgraced Alabama Senate hopeful Roy Moore on the morning after his historic loss.

Cooper quickly followed that tweet up however with another, claiming it was not him who made that comment and alleging that his account was hacked by an unknown individual.

‘just woke up to find out someone gained access to my twitter account. i have not sent a tweet in days or replied to any tweets. We are looking into how this happened,’ wrote Cooper.

That came after the surprising comment to one of President Trump’s post-election tweets.

‘The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!’ wrote President trump at 6:22am on Wednesday.

Thirty minutes later, a tweet sent from Cooper’s account stated: ‘Oh Really? You endorsed him you tool! Pathetic loser.’

Some are now claiming it is all a cover-up, but CNN does have its host’s back.

‘This morning someone gained access to the handle @AndersonCooper and replied to POTUS. We’re working with Twitter to secure the account,’ tweeted the CNN Communications account.

President Trump meanwhile has yet to weigh in on what could very well become tweetgate.
