Are these the world’s worst Christmas trees ever?

  • Each year, millions of people partake in decorating a family or corporate Christmas tree to mark the festivities
  • But, despite their significance, many fail to capture the magic and instead leave onlookers seriously bemused
  • One example is a plain metal structure, while another sees a pine tree dressed in orange construction netting

‘Tis the season to be jolly.

But, for many, it’s also a time of festive fatigue – especially when it comes to the annual task of decorating a Christmas tree, it seems.

Although they’re meant to be the ultimate centerpiece of the Christian celebrations, many personalised pines end up looking rather pathetic due to tired trimmings and lacklustre lights.

Meanwhile, others are just plain bizarre. From branches made of plastic bags to triangular mounds of plastic bags and crude-looking inflatable mounds, the world has witnessed some serious Yuletide fails.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, this year is no different. To prove it, here’s our selection of the world’s worst efforts courtesy of picture-sharing site Imgur.

But which is the best of a very bad bunch? You decide…

Is that it? This tree in Mottram, Greater Manchester, lacks size and can be seen buckling with the weight of all the decorations

Crude-looking: To some it may resemble an adult-specific gift, but this offering is actually an eyebrow-raising inflatable tree
