A 25-year-old teacher has shared the ‘blonde moment’ she had when when she sent photos of herself to a car insurance company rather than her vehicle.
Alyssa Stringfellow, 25, shared a story on Facebook of an October incident in which was asked to take front and side profile photographs before her new insurance could be completed.
But the teacher from North Little Rock, Arkansas, misunderstood and instead posed for a sequence of images before sending them to her insurer.
She received a message from the insurer saying: ‘Hi Alyssa, I am going to need pictures like you just took, except it needs to be of your vehicle. :)’

Stringfellow was left red faced after she realizing the mistake – which happened on October 31 – and quickly sent across the correct images of the car.
‘Needless to say, I was ridiculously embarrassed, and everyone at work had a good laugh at my obvious misinterpretation,’ she said in a Facebook post about the incident.
She added: The crazy thing is, I asked my mom to take the pictures after I got off work, and we discussed why in the world he would need pictures of me, never once considering it was supposed to be of my car.
‘But, you know what they say, you either have book smarts or street smarts, and I definitely do not have the latter!’
Sringfellow shared her post to give others a laugh at her ‘blonde moment.’
The 25-year-old, who teaches special needs, said: ‘I was insuring myself on my grandmother’s car insurance when I decided to pose for the photos.
After she sent the photos, the insurance company sent her an email explaining why they need photos her vehicle
‘The guy from the insurance company rang laughing his head off after he received my email.
‘I was totally embarrassed and mortified that his entire office had seen my photos.
‘I did think it was strange that he wanted photos of me but I just thought he must need them to identify who I was.
‘My grandmother Carolyn was like, ‘he’s insuring the car not you’, and we’ve all laughed about it since.
‘I decided to share what happened on Facebook and it has since had over 10k shares.’
Stringfellow, who teaches special needs, said that the incident was a ‘blonde moment’ and blamed it on not having ‘street smarts’
Stringfellow was trying to insure herself on her grandma’s insurance to save money on driving her Kia Forte.
She added: ‘I decided to add myself to Carolyn’s car and the insurance company rang her with the details I needed and their email address.
‘This included my driver’s license number, my date of birth, and a picture straight on and a picture taken from each side.
‘I emailed the information along with the pictures that night but I woke up to them asking for the same photos but for the car.
‘He’d told my grandma on the phone (who I call memaw) that he and his entire office were in hysterics at my obvious misunderstanding.
‘It was such a blonde moment but it has given so many people a laugh that I don’t care anymore.’
Her ‘blonde moment’ story is quite similar to the story of a woman who went viral last year for sending selfies of herself to a car insurer when asked for photos of her car.
The woman, known only as Susan, misunderstood her insurance company when they asked her to send pictures and sent photographs of herself instead.
The comic exchange of messages was made public after her daughter Miranda Santos tweeted them and they were shared on Imgur.
Susan texted pictures of her own head in profile, face-on and from behind to insurance company employee Eva, commenting with a smiley face: ‘That felt weird…thanks Eva hope those work?’
But after going to great efforts to take the pictures – they appear to have been taken by somebody else – she was told it was pictures of her car they were looking for.
Eva wrote in reply: ‘Susan you look very nice but I need pictures of your vehicle.’
Miranda’s tweet, which has been favorited and retweeted thousands of times, wrote: ‘Throwback to when the car insurance lady asked my mom for front, rear and side views but she didn’t get the memo.’
