At least two dead as train collides with a school bus

At least three people have died and and several left injured after a train collided with a school bus in France. 

The bus was struck by the train in Millas about 11 miles from the city of Perpignan, close to the Spanish border.

A rescue operation is under way with police and paramedics pictured near the railway line. 

Emergency services, including a helicopter, are working at the scene of the crash about 11 miles from Perpignan in France

French Transport Minister Elizabeth Borne said she will travel immediately to the accident site. 

‘Emergency and public services are fully mobilised,’ Borne said on Twitter, describing the crash as a ‘terrible accident’.
