Australian beauty vlogger creates same look using Kmart high-end makeup – can you tell difference

From blogging to vlogging and a new celebrity cosmetics collection hitting shelves every week, there is no question that the beauty industry is booming.

But with so many brands on the market, it can be difficult to know what product is really worth splurging on.

In 2017, Australian beauty vlogger Brittney Lee Saunders created a burgundy makeup look from high-end brands including Kylie Cosmetics, Benefit and Kim Kardashian West’s self-titled line KKW.

The YouTube sensation recently shared a video of a similar face which she achieved using nothing but Kmart beauty products – so can you tell the bargain look from the luxury look?

For her high end makeup look, Ms Saunders paid homage to the Kardashian-Jenners by using two eye palettes and ‘lip kit’ from Kylie Cosmetics as well as a KKW contour stick and yellow highlight.

The talented makeup artist used her ‘favourite foundation’, Studio Fix from Mac, Hula bronzer by Benefit and liquid eyeliner from TooFaced to enhance her natural beauty.

She dusted powder from the Mecca Max Skin Halo palette in rose gold over her cheeks and accentuated her green eyes using Ardell’s Wispies false lashes, the cheapest item on Ms Saunders’ luxury list which is available at Priceline.

Ms Saunders used a matte liquid lipstick in shade Ginger and shimmering gloss from Kylie’s makeup line to complete her high-end look.

Ms Saunders said Kmart’s highlight was ‘definitely a fail’, leaving her cheekbones sticky with chunks of glitter.

‘I feel the concealer seeped into my skin and took off some foundation underneath my eyes,’ Ms Saunders said, adding she didn’t think it would be suitable for oily skin types.

The shimmered bronzer also left her underwhelmed, although she said this may be down to personal preference.
