‘And still finished third in the group…’: Bayer Leverkusen troll Arsenal after Gunners post throwback video of Dennis Bergkamp chip against them in the Champions League from 2002

  • Arsenal shared video of Dennis Bergkamp’s Champions League goal in 2002
  • Scored in 4-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen but Gunners didn’t progress from group
  • The German club hit back by reminding Arsenal they finished in third place
  • Leverkusen reached the Champions League final but lost to Real Madrid

Bayer Leverkusen jokingly mocked Arsenal after the Gunners shared a video of Dennis Bergkamp’s chip in a 4-1 win over the German club in the 2001/02 Champions League second group stage – as they failed to progress in the competition.

Bayer Leverkusen were not shy in pointing this out to the Premier League club in a tweet.
