Bayern Munich trained in the snow on Monday as they aim to put a freeze on Liverpool’s Champions League aspirations.

The two European heavyweights are set to meet at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening with the tie on a knife-edge following the goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg.

Bayern tweeted a video of snow falling at their Sabener Strasse training base early on Monday morning, with the whole complex well and truly covered in the white stuff.

However, the Bayern squad were still able to hold their training session as planned with one of the pitches being completely cleared of snow by the time the players arrived.

The snow continued to fall in flurries, however, and the thousands of Liverpool fans travelling out to Bavaria in the next couple of days would be advised to pack warm clothing.

Temperatures will reach a low of 4C on Wednesday bit there could be a considerable wind chill factor making it feel much colder at kick-off.

Bayern reported that Thomas Muller missed Monday’s training session because of family reasons, while Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso were also absent.

Star striker Robert Lewandowski trained individually in the gym and was spared the cold.

Bayern come into the Liverpool match brimming with confidence after snatching the Bundesliga lead from rivals Borussia Dortmund with a 6-0 thrashing of Wolfsburg on Saturday.
