Bear hilariously photobombs couple’s wedding photos

A bear witnessed a couple’s wedding — and was apparently less than pleased by the experience.

The couple tied the knot at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley and got to take photos inside the facility, with a Russian grizzly bear in the background.

While the smitten couple held hands and exchanged a kiss, the bear pulled a series of hilarious faces, making it look as though it was completely heartbroken by the scene unfolding before its eyes.

The groom, a Reddit user, took to the platform to share some of the photos taken during the session.

‘So we got married at the Zoo, and this bear had an interesting first look reaction,’ he wrote under the username DrBaumli.

The images, which were taken by Chris and Kristy Photography, were a hit with other Reddit users.

‘He looks like that one guy friend who secretly had a thing for the bride and just finally lost all hope,’ one person wrote in a comment.

‘Wow, did the minister ask if anyone had any objections to speak now or forever hold their peace?’ someone else asked.

‘The bear is like:” “REALLY SUSAN?! THAT GUY?”‘ another Reddit user wrote.

The groom explained in a comment of his own that the images were the photographers’ idea.

‘They said it was very fortunate to get a picture with one of the local denizens; the animals typically go in for mealtime when we’re allowed to wander prior to the ceremony,’ he wrote. ‘This Russian grizzly bear was the only one kind enough give us his “blessings.”‘

In another post, the groom said the ceremony took place after the zoo had closed to other visitors completely, in the evening.

Some people questioned why the couple chose to tie the knot inside a zoo, with several Reddit users expressing concern for animal rights.

‘There are some less than amicable zoos in the world that are like prisons,’ the groom admitted, explaining he was comforted by the fact that the Minnesota Zoo is a state agency and isn’t privately-owned.

Back in 2015, one of the Minnesota Zoo’s three grizzly bears shattered a glass barrier separating it from visitors after slamming a rock into the surface.

The glass pane remained in place and no one was injured. It is unclear whether that bear was the same one as the bear that appears in the couple’s wedding photos.
