Blair’s past threatens to ruin her MAFS romance with Sean

There has been drama aplenty in Married At First Sight this week and it showed no signs of slowing down on Tuesday night’s episode.

Sean and Blair became the latest strangers to walk down the aisle, with their equally high libidos being the main reason that experts had matched the pair.

But it was one relationship from Blair’s past in particular that threatened to extinguish any romantic sparks before they even had a chance to properly ignite.

Early on in the episode it became clear that the two unlucky-in-love reality TV contestants had a lot in common: a penchant for a high amount of sexual activity.

While Sean confessed to sleeping with ‘over 200’ people, Blair admitted her friend nicknamed her Blair Rabbit ‘because I have a lot of sex’.

But Blair’s big bombshell – that she had previously been married before taking part on the Channel Nine show – almost spelled the end of her shot at love with Sean, even though the duo initially appeared pleased with one another at the nuptials.

Things almost took a turn for the worse at the reception however, when Sean spotted Blair’s altered tattoo which read ‘Wifey for lifey’, with the word ‘wifey’ crossed out and replaced with ‘burgers’.

‘He was like what’s this and I was like “oh f**k”‘ Blair explained of the moment to camera. ‘He sorted of brushed over it so I was like pheww. Wedding night is not the night to bring up I’ve been married.’

Despite Blair wanting to keep her previous marriage under wraps, one of her bridemaids gave the game away by spilling the beans to Sean.

‘You know Blair was married before?’ the bridesmaid told him.

Visibly shocked, Sean responded: ‘Really? Sh*t.’

Speaking to camera, he added: ‘She was married beforehand? Obviously, I’ll have to talk to her more about that.’

Meanwhile, wealthy businessman Justin and marketing communications manager Carly were also having issues in their marriage.

Justin, whose last marriage fell apart  due to his self-admitted workaholic tendencies, was struggling to get his mind off business during the honeymoon, causing frustration for Carly.

‘I just wish his focus was more on us, not talking business,’ she complained.

The couple were also struggling to bond, and even had physical barriers in place in the bedroom with Carly explaining:  ‘I have to sleep with pillows around me, it’s a completely no-touch zone. It’s really hard to figure out where we’re heading.’

Also having issues were Troy and Ashley, with the blonde beauty left scratching her head after a series of odd behaviour from her groom.

Causing her particular anguish was when he left her standing in the middle of the road on the way to breakfast together, when he abruptly decided to do some push-ups.

A baffled Ashley exclaimed: ‘We’re on the way to breakfast, I’m waiting here so he can do push-ups in the room. What the f**k.’

On the other end of the spectrum, John – who is on the show for the second time after failing to find love with Deb last season – was getting along swimmingly with his match Melissa.

Opening up about his previous rejection, John told Melissa: ‘I don’t want to bag Deb but it was hard.’

He continued: ‘I couldn’t do anything right and I think she delighted in me not doing anything right. You’re not human if you don’t feel a little bit hurt.’

Nasser and Gabrielle were also growing closer, with the latter deciding to tell her groom that she has alopecia and that her hair is actually a wig.

‘I don’t know I really don’t know. I’m almost speechless. Just have to go on with it, I guess,’ a surprised Nasser said to camera, adding: ‘I’m not going to judge her, it doesn’t matter to me.’

Reassuring Gabrielle that the condition doesn’t faze him, Nasser touching told her: ‘You have everything a beautiful woman has. Now you’ve told me, let’s just move on and have some steak.’
