Bode Miller 911 call reveals Olympian’s daughter was underwater for ‘a couple of minutes’

The infant daughter of Bode Miller had been underwater for several minutes before being pulled out of a pool over the weekend near the Olympian’s home in Orange County, California.

TMZ obtained the 911 call that was made after the body of 19-month-old Emeline Grier Miller was discovered on Saturday, and report that a woman can be heard telling the person on the phone with the dispatcher that the child was in the water ‘ a couple of minutes.’

The child had no pulse after being pulled from the pool, and while the woman who was performing CPR claims at one point to feel a faint pulse on the child, emergency workers later said that they had no luck getting a pulse.

Emeline was rushed to nearby Mission Hospital before passing away on Sunday night, with paramedics unable to revive the infant.

A spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said that the death is still under investigation at this time.

ABC 7 reports that Miller’s wife Morgan Beck had taken Emeline with her to a neighbor’s home, when the child wandered off at one point.

When Beck and another woman went to go look for her, they discovered the child’s body in the pool.

Beck immediately jumped in to get the girl, and once she was back on dry land multiple people tried to resuscitate her with no luck.

Miller and Beck live in a $1.825 million home that the couple purchased back in September of 2016, and which has a large pool in the backyard like every other house on the block.

‘We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this,’ said Miller on social media after the death of his daughter.

‘Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten.’

Miller, who has three older children, also asked for privacy for the family in his Instagram post.

Paramedics arrived at the home in the upscale Coto de Caza neighborhood at 6:28pm on Saturday, and tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the girl while rushing her to a nearby emergency room.

‘They had no pulses the whole way,’ stated Captain Tony Bommarito of the Orange County Fire Authority.

‘It didn’t end well.’

One bystander also noted during the 911 call that water kept coming out of the girl as CPR was being performed reports TMZ, while the woman on the phone can be heard saying ‘c’mon baby girl’ multiple times.

The Orange County Fire Authority reported that 42 residents lost their lives in drowning accidents last year, and the number of incidents was more than double that figure.
