Borce Ristevski’s ex ‘asked about his sexual fantasies’

A former partner of Borce Ristevski has revealed she was asked by police if the accused killer had been violent towards her during sex. 

Ristevski, was charged with the murder of his wife Karen on Wednesday, nearly 18 months after she vanished from her Avondale Heights home in Melbourne.

Following her disappearance, detectives questioned the family’s friends and relatives about the Ristevski’s marriage and whether it had been volatile. 

An ex-girlfriend of Mr Ristevski’s was asked about his sexual fantasies and whether he had been violent towards her – including during sex, the Herald Sun reported.

‘[The detective] asked me if he ever hit me and if he had a temper,’ the woman told the paper. 

Family members also said police asked whether Karen’s stepson Anthony ­Rickard would ‘cover up’ for his alleged killer father.  

‘A missing person’s detective called me, it was quite late at night’ one woman said, according to the publication.

‘He asked me things like, ”do I think Anthony could be covering for his father” and I said, ”not in a million years”.’

Mr Rickard previously accused Mr Ristevski of his wife’s murder on social media after her body was found in bushland on February 20.

The ice addict also declared he had been in a relationship with his stepmother and had plans to flee the family home together.

‘Boris u were not there for me for my first 14 years why the f**k did u come into my life and f**k the next 14 years (sic)?’ Mr Rickard wrote in April.

Meanwhile, Ms Ristevski’s brother Stephen Williams said he was one step closer to justice after charges were laid over her murder. 

Shortly after the arrest, Karen’s only sibling said he had ‘waited patiently’ for an arrest to be made over his sister’s death.

‘Today has been a surprisingly emotional day – one which I have been patiently waiting for,’ Mr Williams said in a statement. 

‘It is in no way a celebration, it’s another stage in bringing my beautiful sister Karen the justice she so deserves.

‘A huge thank you to the Missing Persons Squad – also to Emily, Lachlan, my cousins and work colleagues who have been very supportive through these long last 18 months’.

In March, Borce Ristevski was one of the pallbearers at a private funeral service for his slain wife.

Nine months later, he faced Melbourne Magistrates Court accused of her murder.

‘He will be pleading not guilty,’ his lawyer Rob Stary told magistrate Angela Bolger on Wednesday.

Ms Ristevski went missing from the couple’s Oakley Drive home the same morning.

Her remains were discovered in bushland in the Mount Macedon Regional Park almost eight months later, on February 20.

Prosecutor Andrew Tinney SC said police needed extra time to complete their brief of evidence ‘because of the nature of the investigation and the ongoing work that needs to be a done’. 

Mr Stary said his client had already been under investigation for a number of months.

‘This man doesn’t have any history and we want the matter expedited,’ he told the court.

Ristevski has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court on April 18.

No one from his family was in court on Wednesday.
