Brave trucker tries to cross Kuandinsky bridge in Siberia

  • Brave driver tries to cross the ramshackle 1,640-feet long Kuandinsky bridge
  • Barely able to fit a car, it is 66 feet tall and forms part of the notorious BAM road
  • The ambitious trucker comes unstuck about halfway across as his wheels jam

This is the nail-biting moment a brave trucker makes the perilous journey across one of the planet’s most precarious crossings.

Tense footage shows the driver brave the ramshackle Kuandinsky bridge in Siberia which is 66 feet tall and 1,640 feet long – but barely wide enough to fit a car.

The dilapidated bridge, which spans the Vitim River, has no safety railing – so one wrong move could prove fatal.

The crumbling columns supporting the bridge are thick with rust and the wooden  track is decaying and eroded.

And it is even more treacherous in the winter as the timber ices over and vehicle tyres struggle to grip – sliding around inches from the drop.

But the terrifying condition of the bridge was not enough to deter one daring motorist who decided to cross in his truck and film the hazardous journey.

Running parallel to a railway bridge, the crossing is situated in the Trans-Baikal region.

It forms part of the notorious BAM road and is described as one of the world’s toughest adventure routes by the Dangerous Roads website.

And unsurprisingly, the driver runs into difficulties on the journey.

While he manages to slowly navigate the vehicle about halfway across, he then gets into a sticky situation.

The truck’s front wheel appears to become wedged in the air as he tries to make his way over what appears to be a raised piece of metal jutting across the path.

He can then be seen in front of the vehicle trying to work out what his next move should be as his ride remains marooned in mid-air.

Perhaps admitting defeat, he raises his hands above his head and applauds his efforts at the end of the tense clip.
