Brexit secretary David Davis is answering questions in the House of Commons today following a tense 48 hours for the government.

Despite avoiding defeat in a series of crunch votes over the EU Withdrawal bill, divisions within the Conservatives were clear as both pro and anti-Brexit wings of the party declared victory. 

Theresa May was forced to negotiate with more than a dozen potential rebels who could have inflicted a humiliating defeat on her government. 

Despite avoiding defeat, business leaders and those in the financial community have expressed concern about the Government’s handling of the Brexit negotiations.
