A Brisbane woman who attempted to find a solution to swooping magpies failed miserably after the birds still came after her.

Fed up with being swooped by magpies during on her commute to work Tracy Schweitzer attempted to fight the aggressive birds off by attaching a blinking light to her helmet.

‘Okay, so it’s lunchtime, I’m heading home and this morning on my ride in, the magpies got me,’ she says to the camera.

‘I’ve put an extra light on the top of my helmet to see if that stops it.’

She takes off along the bike path, telling the camera: ‘It’s a beautiful day though.’

‘Let’s see if the light works,’ she says.

It only takes around one minute before bird

‘The light did not work, the light did not work,’ she tells the camera.

In the background an irate magpie can be seen chasing her as she comments on how quick the birds can be.

As soon as she comes out of an area with wiring fencing above her, the bird takes another dive at her.

The bird swoops at her five times before she moves to the road where she believe it has been safer.

As she raced down the path, the magpie chased and attacked her. She had hoped that the blinking light on her helmet would repel the magpies away from her but she was wrong.
