British ice addict mum who pleaded for second chance after a lifetime of crime deported to UK

A British ice addict mother-of-five who pleaded with authorities to let her stay in Australia after a lifetime of crime will be deported and leave her children behind.

Kelly Webb, from the Victorian city of Geelong, is expected to be sent back to the United Kingdom when she is released from jail this week, the Herald Sun reported.

The 31-year-old, who came to Australia as a child but was never naturalised, narrowly avoided deportation last year after promising to turn her back on a life of crime.

Webb, originally from England, killed her stepfather with a kitchen knife and hockey stick when she was a teenager after a decade of ‘monstrous’ childhood abuse.

She was convicted of manslaughter and the court served her with a good behaviour bond after hearing details of what she had endured.

Webb then began to use the drug ice and was served an 18-month jail term in 2014 for a burglary she committed when armed with a steak knife.

When she was released last year, Webb avoided deportation after pleading with authorities to allow her to remain in Australia.

‘If I get charged with anything, I am back in the immigration centre and that’s not a risk I am going to take,’ she told the paper at the time.

In a lengthy Facebook post, she vowed that the ‘old Kelly Webb is gone [and] the new Kelly has her head screwed on’.

‘From now on my kids come first which is how it should have been to begin with but I was too self-centred and selfish,’ she wrote upon her release.

‘Can’t wait for my future. I believe this is my second chance to raise these kids and I won’t f*** that up for nobody… So excited to be the best Kelly I can be. Bring it on.’

But in February, she was again before the courts facing a string of theft charges, including allegedly stealing from a liquor store while her child was with her.

The court was told Webb used crystal meth daily and had been avoiding authorities in fear she would be thrown out of the country, according to the paper.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton reportedly cancelled her visa this week. She has the right to challenge the minister’s decision.

Webb’s five young children now face the prospect of growing up with their mother.

The father of three of the children died in a motorcycle accident in October 2015.
