British man Cameron Russell has died in a Bulgarian beach resort while on a lads’ holiday with 20 of his friends

A British man has died in a Bulgarian beach resort while on a lads’ holiday with 20 of his friends.

Cameron Russell, from Dalry, North Ayrshire, was staying at Sunny Beach in Bulgaria – a resort popular with young Brits – when the tragic incident took place. 

Police are now investigating how the 20-year-old died and a post mortem has been scheduled.

Officers are also in contact with the Foreign Office who are providing support to his family.

Devastated friends and colleagues have taken to social media to pay tribute to the man, who is believed to have worked as a digger driver for an industrial services company in Glasgow. 

Kirsti Mccoy wrote on Facebook: ‘This doesn’t feel real! I will love and miss you always – RIP.’

Danielle Hay added: ‘My heart is breaking… you were a treasure. Always a part of our family – love you until we meet again.’

The local football team he played for Dalry Tartan AFC said in a statement: ‘It’s with great sadness I have to write this, a member of our club Cammy Buff Russell has sadly passed away.

‘Cammy was loyal and true to the club. It’s not only a loss to our club but the community of Dalry itself.

‘Cammy was a genuine good guy not only a player but a close friend to all of us who will always be in our hearts and greatly missed.
