Channel Seven sports commentator Bruce McAvaney has sold his hipster warehouse apartment in Melbourne, after a month-long campaign.

The 65-year-old’s residence, located in the trendy inner-city suburb of Fitzroy, was sold to a young buyer for $1.376million last Tuesday.

In a vendor review on the Nelson Alexander listing, the journalist said the sale had ‘far exceeded’ expectations.

Nelson Alexander agent Marek Olech told Domain on Tuesday that the home was purchased by a young buyer who was ‘moving up from a single-fronted Collingwood home into something a little bit cooler’.   

A month’s long campaign saw around 20 group inspections and three offers put forward. 

Bruce listed the two-storey, two-bedroom apartment in mid-February, with an asking price of $1.35million.

Bruce also installed an ‘eco friendly fireplace’ in the living room after he purchased the apartment back in 2015.   

Bruce lived in the apartment with his wife Anne Johnson whenever he was in Melbourne for work. 

However, the couple are now planning on spending more time in their home state of South Australia as Bruce scales back on work commitments.
