Casey Donovan will return to our TV screens this year

She’s graced our TV screens on Australian Idol and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

But for Casey Donovan’s next role she’ll be pretending to be someone else entirely – a sassy and savvy parking inspector named Tia.

The 29-year-old superstar has confirmed to The Daily Telegraph this week she will be acting on Network Ten’s scripted comedy show Street Smart with the crew from Fat Pizza.

‘I was asked to audition for the role late last year,’ Casey said.

‘But I’ve done lots of auditions in my life so I’m used to giving them you all and then the minute you walk out the door you put it behind you because life has to keep rolling on.’

Hinting at how difficult the Aussie showbiz industry can be to crack, the Listen To You Heart songstress admitted she didn’t expect to hear anything back.

‘But I ended up coming through with the role which is great,’ she said.

The show will follow wannabe criminal Steve, played by Tahir Bilgic, who is stopped at every turn by nemesis and parking inspector Joseph (Rob Shehadie).

The former Aussie Idol’s character is a more compassionate inspector named Tia.

Casey has had an incredible run on TV thus far, winning the second series of Australian Idol in 2004 and I’m A Celebrity in 2017.

Of the latter show she recently opened up to News Corp about the almost unbearable conditions she lived in.

Casey claimed that no one in the cast was prepared for extended periods of doing nothing.

She said the struggle was compounded by hunger, due to the show’s bare-minimum food rations.

‘You play little games dreamt up by the producers. But the games your mind plays on you are the worst,’ she said.
