Casey Neistat surfs on the East River in New York City

A man who dared to take to the New York City streets for a snowboarding adventure in 2016 has stepped his game this summer, with a wicked surfing video on the East River.

YouTube vlogger Casey Neistat was quick to ditch the brutal heat over the weekend for the not-so-clean waters of the East River, Sunday, for the video ‘SURF NEW YORK CITY.’

The video opens with a local weatherman speaking about New York’s triple digit heat index as Neistat and his accomplices gear up for the water.

The camera shows Neistat gearing up for his next stunt, as a cameraman shares his disbelief that the man will actually be able to surf on the river.

But using a high-powered flying drone, Neistat rides along the back of a boat until he can grasp unto the drone’s tether.

And with enough speed, he is able to glide across the water almost effortlessly.

As Neistat skates, the crowd goes crazy with excitement.
