Cassandra Thorburn is SLAMMED by judge on Dancing With The Stars

Cassandra Thorburn made her Dancing With The Stars debut on Sunday night.

And despite describing herself as having felt ‘beautiful, confident and happy,’ judge Craig Revel Horwood had other ideas about her performance.

Prior to giving her a score of just one, he told Karl Stefanovic’s ex-wife: ‘Frankly it was a failure!’

Cassandra stunned on the dance floor as she performed the Viennese waltz with partner Marco De Angelis.

The 47-year-old highlighted her slim figure in a red flowing dress with sheer detailing across the bust, and a daring thigh split.

Cassandra’s brunette locks were styled into an elegant do, and she sported an elegant makeup palette. 

The former journalist performed the Viennese waltz to Nina Simone’s hit Feeling Good, where the lyrics ‘a new day, a new dawn’ symbolised her new chapter.

Cassandra made headlines over the past two years after she split from her husband of 21 years, Karl Stefanovic.

However when it was time to dance, the mother-of-three gave it her all, appearing keen to let go of the past.

Judges Sharna Burgess and Tristan MacManus were full of praise for Cassandra, commenting on how beautiful and elegant she looked.

However when it came to judge Craig Revel Horwood, the dance professional had some rather harsh words for her.

‘Frankly it was a failure!’ he directed at Cassandra, later going on to give her a dismal score of one.

Cassandra earned the lowest score of the night, a 10, the same score Curtly Ambrose received.

One particular viewer hit back at Craig, saying: ‘Craig you’re a tw*t. They aren’t professional dancers and we are here to watch them grow – both in technique and in spirit.’ 

After the episode, Cassandra took to Instagram, asking fans to vote for her and keep her in the competition.

‘What a night… I felt glamorous and thought my hard work had paid off… but a one… I’m determined to prove to that judge I can do this,’ she wrote.
