When it comes to slippery slopes, there really is only one direction things can go, as this unfortunate driver discovered after leaving his handbrake off his car.

The vehicle was seen rolling down a hill at speed in Penza, western Russia, on Tuesday.

CCTV cameras were there to capture the moment, as the driver was forced to chase his car down the steep hill, which is known to locals as ‘Bewitched Mountain.’

Despite putting himself at risk and narrowly avoiding being run over by his own car, the driver continues running.

Thankfully he appears to escape injury, though one can only assume the car might not have fared so well after coming to an eventual halt.

Penza benefits from warm summers, but also long, cold winters. Average low temperatures for December are around -10°C, though the record low for this region is -40°C.
