‘Clean your hands and your face,’ Anna told Beauticate.

‘Wrap tissues around your fingers (preferably nails short). Apply pressure from the sides and underneath.’

She recommended you try ‘to get behind the pimple and push it forward’.

You should follow this treatment with a ‘toner to sanitise’.

'Only squeeze blemishes after a shower or bath when your skin and its oils are soft and malleable,' Anna explained

Elsewhere when it comes to spot squeezing, Anna wrote on her blog that there is a certain time of day that’s best for tackling them.

‘Only squeeze blemishes after a shower or bath when your skin and its oils are soft and malleable,’ she explained.

‘You should also only squeeze pimples that have heads – just leave those big blind pimples alone!

‘They are swollen and are best treated with anti-inflammatories. Squeezing them will only make them worse and then they will take even longer to heal.’

Speaking about the most common mistakes women make around skincare, the celebrity facialist revealed one of the biggest things is over exfoliating or being too rough with granular scrubs.

She said that exfoliating is only one element of having a balanced skin regime, and it is not always necessary to scrub at your skin every day.

Instead, she recommends blending face masks and products to get better and varied results.

She recommends The Beauty Chef’s Inner Beauty Powders as being great for nourishing your complexion and body from the inside out.
