Chase Carter named as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie

Sports Illustrated has proudly revealed the newest member of its rookie class in a stunning series of risque behind-the-scenes clips from her beach-themed photo shoot.

As part of the big reveal, 20-year-old Victoria’s Secret PINK model Chase Carter – the lucky lady in question – was filmed live on location in the Bahamas over the weekend while she posed for the first shoot for the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

For the first time in Sports Illustrated’s illustrious history, the magazine shared behind-the-scenes footage of one its shoots on Facebook Live while it was happening, starting with a video of editor MJ Day dropping a changing tube to present Chase as the second member of the SI Swimsuit 2018 rookie class.

The clip sees Chase decked out in a tiny string bikini top and high-waisted bottoms that are she same color green as the lush tropical rainforest she is posing in front of.

Chase gushes that she is ‘so excited’ to be Sports Illustrated’s newest swimsuit model before she gets down to business and starts showing off her modeling skills. 

At one point she can be seen sultrily walking towards the camera as she pulls her bikini bottoms down towards her hips. 

Other footage from the shoot sees Chase donning a neon yellow bikini featuring cutouts while she frolics on the beach.

Sports Illustrated noted that Chase was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and she felt ‘right at home’ during the shoot. 

The rising star has been modeling since she was discovered at the Sydney Airport when she was just 13 years old, and while she is a natural in front of the camera, she is also a ‘sports nut’.

According to Sports Illustrated, she played tennis, soccer, softball, and threw the javelin for her high school track and field team. 

She is now a huge fan of the NFL and NBA, and she has her own blog, Cheese’s Take, which is dedicated to her love of writing and sports.

Chase took to Instagram over the weekend to share her more behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the shoot

‘Words can’t describe what I’m feeling right now… I AM OFFICIALLY AN SI SWIMSUIT MODEL,’ she captioned footage of herself posing in a white two-piece. 

‘What a dream come true and couldn’t feel more blessed. Thank you to EVERYONE that’s made this possible,’ she added.  

Chase joins Anne de Paula, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 2017 Model Search winner, as the only two models who are confirmed to appear in the 2018 edition. 

Sports Illustrated will continue to reveal one model per photoshoot on Facebook Live to reveal the identities of its 2018 swimsuit stars ahead of the iconic issue, which debuts early next year.
