The handsome thespian flaunted a trim waistline in his matching shirt and pants as he plays a mechanic in the film.

His face and neckline seemed taut as he carried a coffee mug around set during a break in filming.

The gaunt look is nothing new for the Welsh gentleman as he dropped down to a reported 121 lbs. to play Trent Reznik in 2004’s The Machinist.

To dive into the character who suffers from insomnia so severe that his condition has taken its toll on his weight and his mental health, Christian lost over 70 lbs.

‘I had never before gone to a doctor or a nutritionist about gaining or losing weight for my roles,’ he told Star2.com.

‘But eventually that caught up with me. So, finally for Backseat, I decided that maybe somebody knows better than I do; so I went to somebody and they managed to get me up a good 40lbs.

‘It’s never healthy to put on that amount of weight in a short amount of time, but I did it in the healthiest manner,’ he explained.
