CORGI is fat shamed by Instagram troll

The owner of a fluffy corgi clapped back at stranger who fat-shamed her beloved pet — and inadvertently started a viral debate about the pooch’s weight.

Six-year-old Pax and his fellow corgis Carter and Apollo are the stars of the pcacorgis Instagram account, which has more than 19,000 followers.

Earlier this week, Pax’s owner Morgan posted an adorable snapshot of him getting groomed at their local PetSmart in Houston, Texas, but some people couldn’t resist commenting on the dog’s size.

Happy pup: A pet owner named Morgan took to Instagram to share a photo of her corgi Pax getting groomed at PetSmart, but people couldn’t resist commenting on his weight

‘That poor dog is so obese,’ a user named Stephonie wrote, prompting an angry response from Pax’s protective owner.

‘Actually, b***h, the healthy weight for an adult male corgi is 25-30 lbs. and he weighs 26,’ Morgan wrote.

‘Go troll on someone else’s page and find something better to do than hate on a precious dog that looks better than you ever will.’

She went on to tag two of her friends, writing: ‘Look at this b***h calling Pax “so obese.”‘

Morgan’s fierce response prompted others to leap to Pax’s defense, with one person commenting: ‘What are people doing fat shaming a god damn corgi?’

‘This just shows how sad the world has come to. Someone literally fat shaming a dog,’ someone else added.

And one fan insisted: ‘He’s perfect weight. He’s not obese.’

Others argued that the dog is definitely overweight, with one person saying the dog is ‘thiccer than a bowl of oatmeal.’

The debate got carried over to Twitter when reporter Julia Reinstein tweeted a picture of Pax alongside Morgan’s scathing response to her pet being called fat.

‘Do not fat shame an instagram corgi they will come for you,’ she captioned the post, which received more than 219,000 ‘likes’ — including one from Chrissy Teigen.

Commenters were once again quick to defend Pax, with one person writing: ‘So damn cute he’s not fat at all he’s adorable.’

Someone else pointed out that he just looks bigger because he was getting his hair done.

‘Notice that he’s at the groomers as well,’ the person explained. ‘If it looks like he has any extra weight it’s probably hair.’

The tweet also inspired some corgi owners to share photos of their own pets, while weighing in on Pax’s size.

‘My corgi is 24 pounds so the defensive comment is definitely a lie lol,’ one person joked.

A few days after her original post, Morgan shared a photo of Pax with his hair combed, so people could see his real size.

‘Here’s a picture of my super obese dog for everyone,’ she wrote. ‘I pushed his hair down so y’all can see how perfect he actually is.’
