Could Lisa Wilkinson replace Jessica Rowe on Studio 10?

Following her departure from the Today show last October, Lisa Wilkinson has been settling into her role as co-host of Channel Ten’s The Project and The Sunday Project.

But the 58-year-old may be in line for another job at the network, after Jessica Rowe revealed on Friday that she was leaving Studio 10 after five years.

Jessica, 47, announced her resignation live on-air and will record her final program at the end of the month. Her replacement is yet to be confirmed.

Explaining her decision to leave, Jessica said: ‘It’s been a very hard thing for me to do, but it’s because my family need me… I want to be more present, I want to be a more present mum for my girls, Allegra and Giselle. They need their mum.’

During her announcement, Jessica made it clear that Channel Ten have been ‘nothing but supportive’ and that she is ‘welcome back’ at the network any time.

With her replacement yet to be announced, there is no doubt that Lisa could be a good fit for the morning TV role after her 10 years presenting Nine’s Today.

There would be a certain irony if Lisa was offered the position, as she had replaced Jessica on Today back 2007, following Jessica’s controversial departure from Nine.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Network Ten and Lisa Wilkinson’s management for comment.

Lisa spent a decade on the Today show alongside Karl Stefanovic. She resigned last year after producers reportedly refused to pay her the same salary as Karl.

The 58-year-old told TV Week in December that her move to Channel Ten was a ‘no-brainer’

Lisa was also hopeful the new job would allow her to cover more news and current affairs.

She debuted on The Project in early 2018, alongside co-hosts Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar.
