According to Diario Gol, Ronaldo has spoken to club president Florentino Perez after reports suggested Real were eyeing up an £81 million move for Icardi.

Despite his electric form, Ronaldo is not convinced by the Argentine and wants Silva to join him at the Bernabeu.

In comparison, the AC Milan striker is yet to register a goal in Serie A this season but has netted six in the Europa League.

Despite this, the club may look to loan out their new striker in order to raise his market value.

The 22-year-old only joined the Rossoneri from Porto in the summer but Ronaldo believes the youngster has the ability to reach the very top.

Both men are represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes who has well-known ties with Madrid.

It seems Ronaldo is concerned about the impact Icardi may have on the dressing room after his controversial time at Inter where he has previously fallen out with teammates and the club’s fans.

The 32-year-old appears to see Silva as a possible heir to his thrown, previously telling Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘When I retire, Portugal will be in good hands because they have already found a great striker: Andre Silva’.
