CrossFit owner post videos of clients focusing on backside

A North Carolina CrossFit trainer is being accused of treating his female clients and staff ‘like pieces of meat’ after posting videos of their butts while working out.

Tom Tomlo Jr. posted a video featuring three clients at his Blue Ridge Cross Fit in Fletcher, North Carolina, last Friday on the company’s Instagram.

In the clips, the women – clad in black workout pants – are bent over as their backsides poke out into the air.

Over their assets, Tomlo posted peach and rock on emojis with captions ‘dayum’ and ‘humpday.’

A woman who attends the gym saw the video and took screenshots, posting them on Facebook and adding: ‘This is not okay.’

And after receiving a wave of backlash and critisim, Tomlo allegedly took to Facebook under the name Blue-rijj Koche and blasted those who spoke out.

‘It has been brought to my attention that some people chose to get butthurt today and make a public post in this group also some other bulls*** in private,’ he said on Facebook.

‘You must have lost your f***ing mind if for one moment you think this is a platform or community for you to create some bulls*** like that. No one in this establishment has the green light on that.

‘I do not play those games and we do not acknowledge that type of petty, feeble-minded garbage.

‘If there is something you disagree with so tremendously you feel the urge to make it public or choose to be offended etc. you have two choices, one set a meeting to discuss with myself or find a place that is a better fit for you.’

Tomlo would later post a status defending his actions and how no one on the staff had an issue with the videos

But according to Amanda Turlington, the former lead membership administrator at the gym who quit after post, Tomlo was told by his staff that the videos were not OK.

‘Over half of our team, our staff, had reached out to him. ‘Tom, I don’t feel comfortable with this, it isn’t OK.’ And he wouldn’t hear any of it,’ Turlington told News 13. ‘He was very defensive.’

Turlington claims that she was one of the women featured in the post – with a thumbs up emoji and ‘#blueridgegirls’ – and that she was unaware that she was being filmed.

‘We come to the gym to work out and to be surrounded by people we care about and they care about our success,’ Turlington said.

‘I don’t come to the gym to be sexualized. I don’t come to the gym to have my body on display.’

She added that in addition to quitting, she took several calls on Monday from people wanting to cancel their memberships.

Tomlo spoke with News 13 to apologize, following the even more severe backlash he faced following his defensive post supporting his actions.

‘We do pictures of guys’ butts around here, we have an informal loving family and it’s not a negative thing,’ he said.

‘We were having fun. We were videoing, talking about booties that day.

‘I can’t control the way this is being portrayed, and I’m regretful for it. Someone took offense to it. They took a picture of it and put it in a way, I can see how it would be misunderstood.’

But Turlington detailed that this wasn’t the first time she had a problem with Tomlo’s behavior.

‘Tom has a history of tagging our 6 a.m. classes ‘morning wood,” Turlington said.

‘He very much has an alpha personality. He was in the military for years.’

Nicole Kott accused Tomlo of putting his clients in danger and stated: ‘It’s not only rude to post sexually suggestive pictures of your clients, you are endangering them by posting a sexually suggestive picture that coincides with a regular location with regular class times. Women don’t work out to show their asses off for your enjoyment.’
