Demi Lovato posts sunlit swimsuit poolside photo

The Northern Hemisphere is currently in the middle of winter.

But when Demi Lovato plugged her latest album on Instagram this Friday, she decided to cleave to a summery theme.

The 25-year-old posted a sunlit photo of herself wearing a backless one-piece swimsuit as she lounged across a long cushion beside a swimming pool.

Demi aimed her best smoldering stare at the camera from over her sunglasses, which had slid halfway down the bridge of her nose.

The Sorry Not Sorry singer wore her apparently drenched hair down.

She vamped in the caption: ‘#tellmeyouloveme,’ quoting the title of her sixth and latest studio album, which she dropped in September of last year.

It peaked at the third place position on the Billboard 200, a hair’s breadth behind her previous album Confident, which had peaked at second.

This latest album of hers has yielded two singles – Sorry Not Sorry, which debuted in July, and the title track, which was first released in August.

On her Twitter page this Friday, she squeezed in an extra bit of promotion for the new record, plugging a high-profile stop on her publicity rounds.

‘Make sure you guys tune-in to @theellenshow on Monday!! I’ll be performing #TellMeYouLoveMe,’ she tweeted with a flurry of heart emoji.

Demi, who boasts 64.8 million followers on Instagram and 54.1 million on Twitter, told Time last year that when it comes to social media, ‘I’ve learned it’s sometimes best to keep certain things to yourself.’

Said she: ‘As much as I would love to comment on people in the news, my opinion of our president doesn’t help anybody. When it’s something that is right or wrong – like LGBTQ rights – I’m more open and speak up for things I believe in.’
