Drunk woman ‘thrown out on M53 by cabbie’ after vomiting

A woman who vomited in a cab while drunk claims the driver punished her by kicking her out on the motorway as cars rushed toward her at 70 miles per hour.

Vicky Abbott says she was thrown out into pouring rain near junction one of the M53 by a screaming driver who swore at her when she was unable to pay £40 on the spot after a night out in Liverpool.

The 30-year-old says she was locked in the car as the driver threatened to take her to a police station despite her saying she’d get the cash from her home in Moreton, Merseyside.

Instead she was thrown from the seat as he slammed his brakes on and dumped her near the Moreton Spur roundabout, the Wirral Council worker said.

‘It was teeming down and there were no lights or hard shoulder and there were cars going 70mph coming towards me,’ she said, claiming the driver pushed her out after failing to find a police station.

‘I knew I had done wrong and drank too much and I said to him, “I don’t have £40 on me but I will get it from home or clean it up,” she said.

‘But he was just screaming and shouting at me saying, “you are going to have to pay for this” and then said he was taking me to a police station.

‘I was locked in the back of the cab and he was stopping people and asking them where the nearest police station was.

‘Then he said, “I am taking you back to Liverpool”.’

Ms Abbott, who was the only passenger in the taxi at that point, says the driver became aggressive when she asked where he was taking her.

‘We had dropped my friend in Leasowe and he literally drove past my road saying he was taking me back to Liverpool,’ she said.

‘He said, “you are not being f****** sick in my car” and then slammed the brakes on, so I came off my seat.

‘Then he said ‘get out the f******g car and put his arm through and pushed me out.

‘It was only when I got out that I realised I was in the middle of the motorway.’

She walked in darkness along the road and finally found a safer spot, from which she rang her mother, who was forced to rescue her.

Ms Abbott warned others to always get a driver’s badge and registration number before taking cabs.

‘I understand him making me pay but then there is making me pay for it with my life,’ she said.

‘I take responsibility for having had too much to drink but I repeatedly said “take me home and I will pay for it or clean it up” and he was just having none of it.

‘He chucked me out on a motorway and wasn’t a bit concerned that I could have been run over.

‘How many girls is he going to pick up over the Christmas period who have had too much to drink?

‘I had just had a little bit too much to drink and too much to eat and felt sick.

‘It would have taken me two seconds to clean up.

‘What he did was ridiculous – I couldn’t even do that to someone I hated.’
