Fake dinosaur seen on the River Thames in London

Commuters could not believe their eyes when they saw a life-sized replica dinosaur floating down the River Thames this morning.

The giant plastic creature was spotted by alarmed London commuters as they made their way to work just after 7am today.

It was pictured by several people inside a cage on the back of a boat.

Met Police's marine unit implied the giant plastic creature would be used to promote the new Jurassic Park film that premieres in the UK on June 7

An image of it was tweeted by the Met Police’s marine unit, with the caption: ‘They captioned it ‘Marine 2, Marine 2 – we’re getting a number of calls in regarding a genetically engineered dinosaur at large on the Thames are you free to deal?”

Journalist Elliot Wagland tweeted: ‘There’s currently a dinosaur escaping from a cage heading down the River.’

While another tweeted: ‘Not every day you see a dinosaur being floated up & down the Thames but Trump is President and these are strange times we live in.’

Someone else wrote: ‘Nothing to see here. Just a dinosaur being floated up the Thames.’ 

It is not known why the giant T-Rex was being transported by boat, but it is believed it will star in promotional material for the new Jurassic Park movie ‘Fallen Kingdom’. The film premieres in the UK on June 7.
