A fan has immortalised convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby with an elaborate tattoo of the infamous Australian’s face on his leg.
Melbourne resident Sean Dobbs got the ink work on Monday at Reverence Tattoo Richmond. Ms Corby then posted images of the tattoos on her Instagram account.
The tattoo shows Corby, 40, wearing a Balinese Bintang-branded beer hat, holding a bodyboard and smoking a joint in a tongue-in-cheek reference to her 2005 conviction.
‘I wanted something people would notice and get a laugh from,’ Mr Dobbs told Daily Mail Australia.
‘And yeah, I find her sexy.’

The image shows the drug smuggler’s face in front of a large sun with palm trees either side, a reference to the tropic Balinese landscape.
In the tattoo, Ms Corby has facial tattoos, perhaps a link to her prison time at the infamous Kerobokan Prison. The back-to-front Bintang snapback hat and body board are also references to her drug bust.
Mr Dobbs said he and tattooist Ben Smith met to come up with the idea to honour an ‘Australian icon’.
‘As soon as Schapelle Corby with the boogie board came up we started designing straight away,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.
Mr Dobbs said the tattoo was inspired purely for ‘banter’ rather than any political statement or allegiance to Ms Corby.

‘We started talking about Australian icons and of course Schapelle Corby is an Australian icon. He was happy with it and I think she was pretty happy with it too,’ Mr Smith told Daily Mail Australia.
I haven’t seen too many people in the world with tattoos like this. We’re in discussions to do another one on an Australian icon on Ben’s other leg, but I can’t say who yet.’
