FEMAIL reveals the Easter fails that will make your long weekend look a breeze

The Easter long weekend is a time that many families get together over lunches, but it doesn’t mean everything goes off without a hitch.

Although many people spent the day pulling back the foil covering their Easter treats, some days didn’t go to plan.

FEMAIL has rounded up some of the top Easter fails, which will make your day look like it was perfect in comparison.

One woman was eager to spoil her family with a delicious cake for Easter but unfortunately, it didn’t work out the way she had hoped.

In the photo she posted to Instagram the cake can be clearly seen falling apart and although she tried to hide the mess with icing and mini chocolate eggs, the damage was irreparable.

‘I promise you I tried. I can’t decorate cake, it’s not even an April fool prank,’ the woman wrote on Instagram.

Another person tried to recreate an image they found of an Easter bunny cake, to only have a much sadder looking rabbit come to fruition.

Their finished product looked nothing like the cutesy and well-formed cake they used as a guide.

Instead of creating ears and whiskers out of icing they used cardboard, googly eyes and toothpicks.

One unfortunate Twitter user bought a Cadbury Creme Egg that seemed to be missing one vital ingredient - the creme filling

From melted Easter bunnies and Cadbury Creme Eggs with no filling, to failed eggs that were meant to look like hatching chicks, no dish was safe

Among the casualties were broken chocolates, spilt lollies and destroyed sherbet.

There was a theme of food being the main victim of Easter day fails, probably due to the fact that it plays such an important role in the day.

On top of these Easter fails was the fact that this year Easter and April Fools Day shared their spot in the calendar so one creative parent wrapped grapes in Creme Egg wrappers to trick her children into thinking they were chocolate eggs

On top of these Easter fails was the fact that this year Easter and April Fools Day shared their spot in the calendar, meaning some fails were especially catastrophic.

One such brilliant fail came from a mother who wrapped grapes in Creme Egg wrappers to trick her children into thinking they were chocolate eggs.

In retaliation her children said they would cook her brownies, but in actual fact they meant brown es, which they served up on a plate.

Another trickster brought what people thought were chocolate-covered cake pops to a family Easter lunch.

You can imagine the family’s surprise when they bit into the delicious sounding treat only to be met with a mouthful of Brussels sprouts.

‘Well, I don’t think I’ll be asked to bring dessert to a family thing anytime soon,’ the culprit wrote on Twitter.
