Femail rounds up easy Halloween eye make-up looks

Halloween is just over a week away and if you’re still waiting for costume inspiration to strike, you have two options: Brave the crowds at the Halloween store or work with what you already have in your closet – or better yet, your make-up bag.

With so many festive and easy-to-copy beauty tutorials on Instagram and YouTube, we’d go with the latter.

From a bloody smoky eye to spider web eyeliner, social media is rife with fun ideas that merely require a handful of products and basic eye make-up skills.

Read on below for Halloween ‘costumes’ you can create on your eyes.

The Spider Web Eye

Web of eyes: Take your eyeliner to the next level with a cute, not creepy spider web design

Get into the Halloween spirit by adding a few creepy crawlies to your winged eyeliner.

Use a liquid formula like MAC’s new Rollerwheel liner to achieve the precise lines for the web and spiders.

For a pop of color, top off the look with shimmery purple eyeshadow like vlogger shaaanxo did here.

The Splattered Blood Eye

Bloody good: YouTube vlogger Nikkie Tutorials gave her smoky eye a festive touch by creating a blood splatter design

Nikkie De Jager of Nikkie Tutorials was inspired by vampire films like Twilight to create a ‘sexy and glam but still a little bit freaky’ look.

The focus of the look is the bloody smoky eye that the vlogger created by dipping a piece of a stippling sponge into red pigment and dabbing it over the eye. She then created a wing along the lash line with red liquid liner and a smoky effect by applying purple and black eyeshadow on the lid and below the lower lash line.

To drive the theme home, Nikkie painted a small droplet of blood at the bottom corner of her lips using red pigment.

Galaxy Eyes

Start by buffing a bright pink eyeshadow from the brow bone and down to the tip of the nose and apples of the cheeks. Next, blend a blue or purple shade over the center of the nose and out towards the cheeks, as well as on the center of the eyes.

For dimension, apply a highlight to areas in the center of the face like the inner corners of the eyes and the tip of the nose.

Use white eyeliner to draw dots and stars on top, or to make the look even easier, use Milk Makeup’s star-shaped stamp.

Clown Eyes

The final touch: Beauty vlogger Hayley Bui took her clown make-up to the next level with Halloween contact lenses

The final touch: Beauty vlogger Hayley Bui took her clown make-up to the next level with Halloween contact lenses

Pennywise from Stephen King’s novel-turned-movie It is sure to dominate the streets this Halloween, but if you’re looking for a more simple and glam way to clown around this year, take inspiration from vlogger Hayley Bui’s latest tutorial.

After creating a pink smoky eye, Hayley drew harlequin clown-style triangles above her eyebrows and below her eyes.

To finish the look, she exaggerated the size and shape of her lips with liquid lipstick using a dark fuchsia shade along the edges and a lighter pink shade in the center.
