As the DHL vehicles started to brake, the employee is said to have realised too late that the traffic had stopped.

The 26-year-old worker smashed into the first van and soon after a build-up happened, with the three other drivers pushed together.

The driver of the first van to be hit was only slightly injured during the accident and received medical attention.

The other drivers, aged between 19 and 28, were unharmed, Germany’s Eßlinger newspaper reported.
