A Ford car salesman called a customer a f***wit’ on the phone after thinking he had hung up.

Xander Svetman complained in a lengthy Facebook post about his new Focus RS being recalled because it had a faulty engine part.

The worker at Titan Ford in Brookvale, New South Wales, left Mr Svetman a voicemail asking him to call back to discuss the issue.

After he said goodbye, he tried to put the phone down before talking to a female colleague and saying ‘he’s a f***wit’.

Mr Svetman, who says Ford has since apologised, shared the voicemail on Facebook alongside his original post, which has received more than 1,000 likes.

He wrote: ‘Ford Australia, you are making it very hard for me to remain loyal.

‘In regards to this Gasket recall, Titan Ford Brookvale first doesn’t even call its RS customers to book in the job.

‘Second, when I try to book it in myself I am told by the service lady ‘we are only doing one RS with a Rental car per week, and we already have three or four booked in (meaning I have to wait till April). It’s just terrible service.

‘I would have expected a call from the service manager (who is a lovely man, and I have spoken with him about the issue before the recall was announced also). So yeah, rectify please.’

He then updated the post to inform readers: ‘The lovely service manager referred to above was not the man that called me a f***wit on voicemail.’

On Wednesday he wrote: ‘Ford Australia has arranged for the recall work to be done with a loan car. They have also apologised quite sincerely for the whole experience, verbal and written.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ford Australia for comment.
