GLOW’s Betty Gilpin attends play NYC opening with Greta Gerwig after reacting to Emmy nomination

After nabbing her first-ever Emmy nod, GLOW star Betty Gilpin joined two-time Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig at the opening of Second Stage Theater’s off-Broadway play Mary Page Marlowe at Manhattan’s Tony Kiser Theater on Thursday.

The 31-year-old New Yorker – who acted in two Second Stage plays in 2008 – wore a frilly white blouse tucked into a tan pencil skirt, and gold stilettos selected by stylist Cristina Ehrlich.

The SAG Award nominee – whose father is Billions star Jack Gilpin – wore her natural auburn bob in a messy top bun and kept her make-up minimal for the red carpet.

For her role as mother-turned-wrestler Debbie ‘Liberty Belle’ Eagan, Betty will compete for the supporting actress in a comedy series trophy against more established names like Laurie Metcalf, Megan Mullally, and Kate McKinnon.

‘Mother. Of. God. Greetings from shock and denial paralysis on my living room floor,’ Gilpin gushed Thursday to her 21K Twitter followers.

‘Thank you to the Television Academy for making me throw my phone across the room as if it was made of lava needles. I am so overwhelmed and grateful to be a part of a show where women are allowed to be their weirdest, loudest, bravest selves.

‘I’ll probably self-sabotage in a bold and creative way before the ceremony, so I hope everyone has a lovely autumn. Thank you, thank you, thank you. What. Is. Happening.’
