It was later discovered that the coyote pup was actually female.

The young coyote was dehydrated and has since received fluids, food, and care, according to NBC Chicago.

A spokesman for Willowbrook Wildlife said it will be watching the coyote’s progress over the week.

‘If she progresses nicely and we don’t find any other issues…we will most likely transfer her to another rehabber who has young pups close to her size.’
