Google’s satellite mapping picks up giant penis-shaped crop circle

A huge penis-shaped crop circle etched into a dry lake bed has been captured and shared with the world via Google’s satellite mapping.

The risque new addition to Betoota Lake, Marcus Hill, in Victoria is so large it can be seen from outer space.

The shape of the crop circle is not easily missed, and was shared with the Facebook page ‘Take the Piss Geelong’ on Monday night.

However, Geelong Advertiser reports locals have been aware of the massive member for months.

Since it’s appearance on Google Earth maps, the location has garnered dozens of five star reviews and ratings.

‘Traveled all the way from New York City to see this beauty. Would do it again,’ one user wrote on the Facebook post.

Another commented on the ‘pretty good size (of lake)’.

Users were also quick to tag their mates or take credit for the new landmark erected into the sand.

The monument, which is allegedly over 50 metres long, isn’t the first unexpected image to pop up on Google Earth.

The service has often caught people or things extraneous to the intended image, such as home owners in their back yard or couples secret trysts.

There hasn’t been any indication as to when or if the penis art will be covered or removed.

So far, locals seem pretty intent on making it a permanent part of the town’s legacy, with the Facebook page offering ‘a beer with your name on it’ to the rightful creator.
