Grayson Perry’s cat is found stuck on neighbour’s roof

Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry’s lost cat has been found safely after getting stuck on a roof for four days.

His daughter Florence announced on Twitter last night that they had spotted the now-famous moggy after his disappearance.

Kevin disappeared on Saturday, sparking a city-wide appeal to find the family’s treasured black and white cat.

There he is! Kevin the cat was found after spending four days stuck on a neighbour’s roof

The feline, made famous by the viral campaign, has appeared in a number of Grayson’s work in recent years.

The family were overjoyed to find him with daughter Florence writing to Twitter last night: ‘He’s home! He was on the roof two doors down the whole time, lol. Totally fine, apart from very hungry.’

Today however Grayson’s wife Philippa said Kevin was injured and added they would be taking him to the vets as soon as possible.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, she said: ‘He has a horrible bend in tail. He was so pleased to be home at first that we didn’t notice. Now he is crying a bit. Vet first thing.’

He said he kept seeing ‘lovely cats’ everywhere but had no idea where his own pet was.

Posting to Twitter on Monday, he wrote: ‘Kevin has been missing now for two and a half days consequently Twitter is torture what with all the lovely cats. We miss him so much.’

Kevin has inspired some of Perry’s artwork in recent years, with the artist particularly well-known for his ceramic vases.

His psychotherapist wife Philippa also pleaded for information on his whereabouts but revealed Kevin frequently disappears.

She wrote: ‘Will everyone who has got a obviously healthy well fed cat in their house that isn’t theirs let it out please. Kevin has disappeared…again. I miss him.’
