Guns, ammunition and ‘stolen’ jewellery worth nearly $200,000 is seized in police raid on a Sydney home – as a teenager, 19, is charged

Police raided a property and seized a loaded Beretta 9mm pistol, another stolen gun, ammunition, drugs and $197,00 worth of jewellery that is suspected to be stolen. 

Police executed a search warrant on November 8 at the home in Carnation Avenue in Bankstown, Western Sydney and a 19-year-old man was arrested.

The raid was part of an ongoing police operation targeting illicit activities of criminal networks.

The man was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with two counts relating to possessing an unauthorised and unregistered pistol, two counts of not keeping a firearm safe and possessing ammunition.

He was also charged with two counts of possessing prohibited drugs alongside possessing goods suspected of being stolen.  

The man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court yesterday where he was granted conditional bail. 

He is due to reappear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.
