Eighties punk rocker Hazel O’Connor claims she was sexually assaulted by cult British comedian Benny Hill.

The Eighth Day singer, who was yet to make her name, says the slapstick comedy star would only let her work as one of his famous Benny Hill girls if she complied.

She says she had to push the comedian off after he pounced on her one evening.

The singer and actress, 62, says she has struggled to get over the incident in 1976.

The attack came just five years after she was raped while travelling in Morocco aged just 16.

After returning from working as a dancer in Beirut and Japan she was sent to discuss working as one be possibly one of the Benny Hill girls.

Speaking to the Mirror, O’Connor explained how she nearly became of the scantily clad women who performed in his comedy sketches.

Then 21, O’Connor arranged to meet at the then 47-year-old Hill’s flat.

She said: ‘When I walked in he was saying, “Well, these are my girls”.

‘He kept showing me pictures of these sexy women who worked with him and saying how they “looked after him”.

‘Eventually he said to me ‘Well, I need to know… will you look after me too?’.

‘I was disgusted and was getting ready to leave when he tried to snog me. I pushed him away and got out of there.’
