Hilarious moment flock of sheep is rounded up by a four-month old sausage dog called Bronson

  • Bronson the dachshund was out to cause mischief on a farm in central Wales
  • The four-month-old pup confidently chased a flock of sheep around the barn
  • Despite being a fraction of the size of the sheep the dog managed to heard them all out sucessfully

CCTV footage captured the moment a miniature dachshund puppy managed to chase a flock of sheep out of a barn.

The footage from a farm in central Wales shows a flock of sheep charging forwards and fleeing from an unseen predator.

That’s when Bronson, a four-month-old miniature sausage dog bounces along behind them.

The feisty pup was clearly out to cause mischief when ran after the sheep at a farm in Rhayader, Wales and decided to try his hand at sheep-herding by chasing the flock all around the barn on October 21.

The role is traditionally reserved for border-collies, due to their herding and working skills, but the little dachshund bounced down the barn confidently despite being a fraction of the size of the sheep.

Dachshunds are well-known for being very cheeky and bossy dogs, especially when young, so this behaviour is nothing out of the ordinary.

It’s also not unusual for sheep to react in this way when faced with a dog. By nature sheep are gregarious animals, in that they band together and stay together when grazing.

Sheep see dogs as predators, or associate them with danger, so when little Bronson chased them out of the barn, it’s no surprise that they banded together for protection and set out to flee the danger zone.
