This is the horrifying moment a cockroach climbs out of a woman’s ear in Vietnam.

Footage captured at a clinic in Hai Duong city shows the inside of the woman’s ear after a Doctor Thuoc inserts an endoscope camera.

The critter can be seen nesting deep in the woman’s ear canal, wiggling its legs.

According to the patient, the cockroach may have entered her ear while she was asleep.

The footage was captured on August 4 in the clinic.

Cockroaches nestling in people’s ears is unusual. In May and June there were two reports in Florida alone.

On one of those occasions, the cockroach stayed for nine days before it was removed.

On the second occasion the roach allegedly laid its eggs before dying.

Experts say the insects burrow in the ear because they like small, warm and humid places.

The ear is also susceptible because cockroaches are active at night when we sleep, so humans are natural targets.

Coby Schal, an entomologist at North Carolina State University told The Verge: ‘ By going into the ear, that’s like a safe place to eat or rest.’

He added: ‘The smell that emanates from the ear is attractive to the cockroach.’
